Category Performance Ratings
7.3
Traction
Solid rubber grips very well on clean courts, while translucent versions pick up dust and need frequent wiping.
9.5
Cushion
Cushlon 3.0 with full-length Zoom Strobel. Bouncy, springy ride with good impact protection but slightly reduced court feel and responsiveness.
8.0
Materials
Mesh and textile upper with TPU layer and patent leather overlays. Flexible and breathable. Durable enough for play but not premium.
7.7
Support
Stiff carbon fibre shank, wide base and outrigger plus solid heel counter. Provides torsional stability, but a low collar reduces lateral containment.
7.3
Fit
Slightly narrow, snug forefoot and close one-piece feel. The heel area can shift for some users, and lacing adjustments may be needed.
100%
Outdoor
Outsole holds up on rough blacktop and concrete. Outdoor traction is generally fine and durable with either setup.
small
large
Sizing
Runs true to size for most. Wide-foot players should consider a half size up or try the high version.
narrow
wide
Width
Fits narrow to regular widths best. Wide footers should go half a size up for comfort.

The Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro nails the aesthetics and performance upgrades with great cushioning, materials, support, and durable traction. Unfortunately, my pair had a popped Zoom Strobel bag, so I'll return them.

The Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro is a fun, comfortable Protro with great cushioning and decent materials. It's pricey, and the black outsole picks up dust. Mild heel slippage is possible, but I'd still probably recommend it.

Visually, I prefer the Kobe 3 Low Protro off-court, but on-court, the traction and lateral support were inconsistent. Cushion and materials are excellent, so I'm choosing the high with solid rubber and better lockdown for play.

The traction is very durable and performs well. The diamond herringbone pattern grips well, but the translucent rubber will pick up dust, so you'll need to wipe it more.

Traction is very good on clean courts. The full black outsole picks up dust on dusty courts and needs a wipe, or performance will degrade.

Traction was inconsistent. I slipped sometimes and had to wipe after every dead ball. The translucent rubber felt far less reliable than the solid rubber on the highs. Try to get a solid rubber pair.

The cushioning felt perfect. Cushlon 3.0 with a full-length Zoom Strobel was smooth, bouncy, and comfortable. It played exactly like the highs. I have no complaints.
